The origins of the karambit knife can be traced back to the martial traditions of Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Its history is closely linked to ancient martial arts such as Kali Eskrima and Penchak Silat, which are practiced in Indonesia. The karambit is sometimes disparaged by purists who use classic knives. At Blaklist, we believe it is a formidable weapon, capable of inflicting multiple wounds, a true extension of the fist. And we don’t even want to imagine the damage a jab with this tool could cause.
